FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Operation Warm Wishes Launches Dual Fundraisers on April 24, 2026, in Partnership with Raising Cane’s and Community Gathering to Combat Homelessness and Support Orange County Families
TUSTIN, Calif. – Operation Warm Wishes (O.W.W.), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring, motivating, and encouraging those who are struggling to get back up, will host two coordinated fundraising events on Friday, April 24, 2026, to provide critical support for homeless individuals, youth, families, veterans, and seniors across Orange County.
From 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers at 2250 17th St, Santa Ana, CA 92705, will donate 15% of net sales to Operation Warm Wishes. Customers can participate by simply mentioning the fundraiser when ordering in person or by entering the promo code RCFUND96 at checkout for online or Raising Cane’s app orders. This all-day partnership offers a convenient, community-wide way to contribute while enjoying a meal—no special purchase required. (Note: Promotion excludes kiosk orders, gift cards, retail merchandise, discounts, returns, taxes, and special offers.)
That same evening, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Operation Warm Wishes will hold its Spring Fundraiser in the courtyard of 250 El Camino Real, Tustin, CA 92780. Guests will enjoy live music, food and drinks, and inspirational testimonials in a festive spring-themed setting. A suggested donation of $25 per person is requested, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the organization’s programs. Attendees can donate via Venmo, Cash App Pay, or Zelle (QR codes will be available on-site). The evening event builds on the daytime momentum, creating a full day of giving that blends everyday support with meaningful community connection.
These back-to-back events highlight the power of collaboration: one leverages a popular local restaurant chain for broad, accessible participation throughout the day, while the other fosters deeper engagement through personal stories and celebration in the evening. Together, they amplify awareness and funding for Operation Warm Wishes’ essential services—emergency shelter and motel stays, food assistance and pantry services, clothing and personal hygiene items, and much more—at a time when homelessness and economic hardship continue to affect thousands in Orange County.
At the heart of Operation Warm Wishes is its founder and president, TyRon Jackson, a community activist, behavioral interventionist, recording artist, actor, model, and former Mr. Gay Orange County (2010/2011). Jackson established the organization on November 26, 2008, after drawing directly from his own painful experiences with homelessness, bullying, and low self-esteem as a young Black gay man. During high school at Tustin High School, he and his family lived in a motel; he faced violent bullying involving racial and homophobic slurs while walking to his job, and he often felt invisible and purposeless. Rather than remaining defined by that pain, Jackson channeled it into action. “I experienced homelessness, being bullied, and low self-esteem. I felt that I had no purpose. I was lost and hurt. I didn’t want to stay hurt, instead, I wanted to make a difference in the world,” he has shared. Today, as a behavioral interventionist in the Tustin Unified School District, he continues to work with youth while leading O.W.W., which has grown from small Thanksgiving dinners serving 30 people into a vital resource providing daily aid, community events, and hope across Orange County and beyond. His guiding philosophy—“We have all fallen down, but getting back up is all that matters”—remains the organization’s heartbeat, emphasizing compassion, unconditional support, and the belief that “Everyone Needs Compassion.”
Funds raised on April 24 will directly fuel these life-changing efforts, helping families avoid cars or streets, providing pantry staples to those facing food insecurity, and offering clothing and hygiene essentials that restore dignity. In a broader context, the events underscore how targeted, local partnerships and personal storytelling can create ripple effects—engaging businesses, residents, and youth alike in addressing systemic challenges like housing instability while celebrating resilience and community unity.
